65 minutes into the match and I feel as though I must make my thoughts heard on one particular subject.
Penalty Kicks...
A penalty kick should not be awarded to an attacker unless he is fouled during the act of shooting on net.
If a player is fouled in the corner of the box while attempting to dribble passed a defender a free kick should be placed outside of the box in the closest area to where the foul occurred.
It is insane to think that a player should be given a free shot 12 yards out on a play he wasn't even going to score on.
In this game it didn't matter because of David Villa's epic fail on a chance to pick up the hat trick. The event once again proves that the ball never lies and also that the Soccer gods agree with my sentiment.
It is quite frankly too easy of a shot. I know for a fact that I could score a penalty shot on a world cup goalie. Even though my soccer career was cut short after 15 years because of a debilitating lack of speed and skill.
Don't believe me. Here is my proof.
Let's just say if they can do it anyone can...
