Buckeye Statement Made

Yes, Ohio State was the No. 1 overall seed and a 16 seed has never upset a 1 but the Buckeyes dominated the game from the opening tip off.

There isn't much to say about a performance like that and I don't want to bore you with statistics.

Just a couple of things I noticed while taking in the game... In no particular order.

(1) Aaron Craft played his worst game of the season. Picked up two early fouls and was overmatched defensively by an experienced point guard. He will be critical for the Buckeyes if they want to make a title run. He had his pocket picked twice which led to fast break lay ups. He must improve in round 2.

(2) I feel bad for David Lighty playing in his home town of Cleveland. Took just 3 shots and had only 8 points. I know that he would have like to have a big day in front of his family and friends. Just another example of how unselfish this team really is.

(3) Dallas Lauderdale could have quit this year, complained about playing time but the dude put in work, kept his head up and is playing a big role. It might not show up in the stat sheets but he is a difference maker out there. I have a feeling he will be in the spotlight and come up big.

(4) If Jon Diebler continues to shoot the way he is the dude is going to shoot us right through to the National Championship. He has no limit to his range. I keep waiting for him to cool off but it just hasn't happened.

George Mason will be a tough test for the Buckeyes... But bring it on. (Famous last words?)
